Welcome to the Pasco-Hernando State College American Heart Association Authorized Training Center—where quality emergency life support instruction combines with convenient classroom, online and workplace training options for health care providers, public safety personnel, concerned community members, and businesses needing to meet OSHA requirements. BLS certification earned through an AHA Training Center is the most often accepted, and sometimes required, in hospitals and throughout the health occupation field. This is due to the high standards that AHA Training Centers and their instructors must adhere to. Earning your certification through an official AHA Training Center will place you in a position of advantage over the competition and choosing PHSC for your instruction ensures that you are being trained utilizing the most current standards and guidelines set forth by the AHA. In addition, PHSC offers the convenience of five campus locations and will make every effort to provide CPR instruction to those individuals faced with an immediate need for AHA CPR certification. The AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers courses are designed to provide a wide variety of health care professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. Courses include BLS for Healthcare Providers Classroom, BLS for Healthcare Providers Online Part 1, and HeartCode BLS Part 1.
These courses are for anyone with limited or no medical training ― ideal for schools and students, new parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life. Classroom courses include Heartsaver CPR AED, Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED, Heartsaver First Aid, and Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid. Online courses include Heartsaver CPR AED Online Part 1, Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Online Part 1, Heartsaver First Aid Online Part 1, and Bloodborne Pathogens Online.
As a certified AHA BLS instructor you will increase your value to an employer and are provided an opportunity to increase your earning potential. Your extensive range of clients can include paramedics, EMTs, respiratory therapists, physicians, CNAs, RNs, LPNs, dental technicians, phlebotomists, etc. Community clients include babysitters, teachers, personal trainers, cab drivers, and a host of others.
