The PHSC women’s fast pitch softball program began in 1994 with the hiring of current Head Coach Tom Ryan who has established a well respected and competitive program.

PHSC women’s softball program is a member of the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The program has an impressive history with 10 post season appearances, four straight seasons of forty wins or more (1997-2000), State Runner Up (1999), and most recently 2011 Region X District P Champions with a fifth place finish at the National Tournament.

Over the years players have received athletic recognition through NJCAA Player of the Week honors and selection to All conference, state and regional teams. Also, many have received athletic scholarships to four year programs.

The program also prides itself on their academic success boasting several players receiving Academic All America recognition by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Clarissa Lynch Breaks Record for Most Strikeouts in Season

Freshmen pitcher Clarissa Lynch broke the record for the most strikeouts in a season during the second game of a doubleheader against Broward College on Friday April 3. Kelly Powe established the record of 166 strikeouts in 2003. Clarissa ended this season with a total of 172 strikeouts.

PHSC Wraps Up Season With Doubleheader Win


Pasco-Hernando State defeated Broward College 2-0 and 8-1 in Ft. Lauderdale on Friday. It was the third straight win for PHSC. The team ends the 2015 season 17-24.

Women's Softball Players to Tryout for Puerto Rico National Teams


Three players from PHSC's 2015 softball team have been invited to participate in a tryout for the Puerto Rican Women’s National and Junior Women’s National Softball teams. The tryout will be held June 8-13 at the International Softball Federation softball complex located in Plant City, Fla.

Sophomore, outfielder, Noemi Chavez, freshmen, outfielder, Jami Aguayo and freshman,pitcher/infielder, Brooke Gonzalez have accepted the invitation and will attend the week’s tryout. The tryout is the selection process for the Women’s National and Junior National teams which will compete in the following summer events:

  • ASA World Cup in Irvine, Cal.
  • Canadian Fastpitch Open in Surrey, Canada
  • Pan American Games in Toronto Canada
  • World Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Lake Sumter Game Rained Out


Today's softball game with Lake Sumter State College has been rained out and will not be rescheduled.

PHSC Splits With Oakland


Pasco-Hernando defeated Oakland Community College 11-1 (5) in game two of Wednesday's doubleheader at the west campus. Olivia Nase (3 for 3/2B/RBI), Aaron McIntyre (1-2/2B/3 RBIs) and Dana Mackiewicz (2 for 3) led an 11-hit attack. Clarissa Lynch (5-7) pick up the win. In game one, Oakland shutout PHSC 3-0. The team is now 5-11 on the season and travels to St. Johns River State College today for a 4:00 p.m. doubleheader. PHSC returns home to host Broward Community College on Friday at 2:00 p.m.
