Clarissa Lynch Breaks Record for Most Strikeouts in Season

Freshmen pitcher Clarissa Lynch broke the record for the most strikeouts in a season during the second game of a doubleheader against Broward College on Friday April 3. Kelly Powe established the record of 166 strikeouts in 2003. Clarissa ended this season with a total of 172 strikeouts.

PHSC Wraps Up Season With Doubleheader Win


Pasco-Hernando State defeated Broward College 2-0 and 8-1 in Ft. Lauderdale on Friday. It was the third straight win for PHSC. The team ends the 2015 season 17-24.

Women's Softball Players to Tryout for Puerto Rico National Teams


Three players from PHSC's 2015 softball team have been invited to participate in a tryout for the Puerto Rican Women’s National and Junior Women’s National Softball teams. The tryout will be held June 8-13 at the International Softball Federation softball complex located in Plant City, Fla.

Sophomore, outfielder, Noemi Chavez, freshmen, outfielder, Jami Aguayo and freshman,pitcher/infielder, Brooke Gonzalez have accepted the invitation and will attend the week’s tryout. The tryout is the selection process for the Women’s National and Junior National teams which will compete in the following summer events:

  • ASA World Cup in Irvine, Cal.
  • Canadian Fastpitch Open in Surrey, Canada
  • Pan American Games in Toronto Canada
  • World Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Lake Sumter Game Rained Out


Today's softball game with Lake Sumter State College has been rained out and will not be rescheduled.

PHSC Splits With Oakland


Pasco-Hernando defeated Oakland Community College 11-1 (5) in game two of Wednesday's doubleheader at the west campus. Olivia Nase (3 for 3/2B/RBI), Aaron McIntyre (1-2/2B/3 RBIs) and Dana Mackiewicz (2 for 3) led an 11-hit attack. Clarissa Lynch (5-7) pick up the win. In game one, Oakland shutout PHSC 3-0. The team is now 5-11 on the season and travels to St. Johns River State College today for a 4:00 p.m. doubleheader. PHSC returns home to host Broward Community College on Friday at 2:00 p.m.

Softball Game Rained Out


Today's softball game against Lake Sumter has been rained out.  The doubleheader is rescheduled for Friday, March 27th at 2:00 p.m.

Softball Team Home Opener Tomorrow


The Women's Softball team will host St. Johns River State College in their home opener tomorrow. The doubleheader will begin at 2:00 p.m. The Lady Quista's are currently 2-8 after falling to Davenport University JV (Iowa)10-9 in 8 innings and Alma College JV (Mich.) 6-1 in Clermont yesterday.

Softball Falls To Hillsborough Community College


Pasco-Hernando State College lost both games against Hillsborough Community College in Plant City on Tuesday night by scores of 6-5 and 8-0. In game one, Oliva Nase hit a two-run home run and Noemi Chavez went 2 for 3 with a triple. Hillsborough rallied to tie the score in the bottom of the seventh inning and scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth. The Quista's were shut out in game two as Clarissa Lynch (2-2) was the pitcher of record in both games. The team is now 2-4 on the season.

Softball Team Opens Season 2-2


The Lady Quista softball team completed their opening weekend tournament in Clearwater with a record of 2-2 at the JUCO Classic. On Friday, Clarissa Lynch recorded a 6-0 shutout win over Wake Technical Community College. Lynch had ten strikeouts as the Quistas scored five runs in the fifth inning and one in the sixth. The Quistas were defeated by Richard Bland Community College in the nightcap by a score of 9-4. Brooke Gonzalez (0-1) took the loss on the mound.

On Saturday, the Quistas defeated Kaskaskia College 2-0 as Clarissa Lynch recorded her second shutout of the season. Chelsi Lopresto (2 for 2/RBI) scored the first run in the fifth inning and gave the Quistas an insurance run by driving in a run in the sixth. Broward College defeated the Quistas' 2-1 scoring in the bottom of the seventh in a very competitive game. Brooke Gonzalez (0-2) took the loss.

The team will travel to Hillsborough Community College on February 10 for a 5 p.m. doubleheader.

Softball Set to Open Season on Friday


Pasco-Hernando State College women's softball team will open the 2015 season playing in the JUCO Classic softball tournament tomorrow. The tournament will be held at the Eddie C. Moore softball complex in Clearwater, Fla. at the corner of Drew Street and McMullen Booth Road.

The team will play Wake Technical Community College at 2 p.m. on field four and Richard Bland Community College at 4:20 p.m. on field two. PHSC will return on Saturday to play Kaskaskia College at 9 a.m. on field one and Broward College at 1:20 p.m. on field four.

Coolers are prohibited and the gate fee is $8.00 per day or $20.00 for the weekend.
