Coach Ryan

Thomas A. Ryan

Head Coach

Tom begins his 20th year at PHSC. Hired in 1994 to begin the fastpitch softball program, he has accumulated over 550 wins and developed a highly competitive program at PHSC. His teams have been to the post season 10 times during his tenure, finishing as co-conference champions in 1998 and finishing second in the state tournament in 1999. As PHSC made the transition to JUCO DII softball, he guided his team to a 31-21 season winning the Region X Tournament, District P Tournament and finishing fifth at the JUCO DII National Tournament in Bloomington, Ill.

Many players have received recognition for their academic and athletic achievements during his tenure. Several players have been named to All Conference, All State and All Region Teams and one player being selected to the JUCO DII National Tournament Team. There are over 20 players that have been named Academic All America student-athletes by the NFCA during his years at PHSC. He has been instrumental in guiding his players to receive athletic scholarships at the four-year level or encouraging their enrollment in universities to continue their education.

Coach Ryan is a member of the NFCA, teaches several classes at Pasco-Hernando and holds a masters degree in Educational Leadership.

Coach Dushane

Christina Dushane

Assistant Coach

Former PHSC softball standout, Chrissy Dushane begins her second year as assistant coach. Chrissy's primary responsibility is to develop the pitching staff while playing a vital role with other aspects of the program.

Chrissy was a first team selection to the Suncoast All Conference team in 2005 and 2006, was the team MVP in 2005 and helped lead the team to two consecutive state tournament appearances.

A native of Brooksville, Chrissy was inducted into the first class of Hernando High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
