Turning on JavaScript in your browser

This section describes how to enable Javascript on your browser. Some College services (myPHSC, WISE, this website) require Javascript for some of their features to function properly.

Follow the listed steps for your browser. The instructions below have been verified to work for all currently supported versions of these browsers as of December 2012.

Chrome (Version 21 and older) - Windows

  1. Click on the Wrench icon > Options.
  2. Select the Under the Hood tab.
  3. Under Privacy, click on the Content settings... button.
  4. Under the Javascript section, verify that Allow all sites to run JavaScript (recommended) is checked.

Chrome (Version 22 +) - Windows

  1. Click on Customize and control Google Chrome (the icon with three stacked horizontal lines) > Settings
  2. Select the Show advanced settings...
  3. Under Privacy, click on the Content settings... button.
  4. Under the Javascript section, verify that Allow all sites to run JavaScript (recommended) is selected.

Internet Explorer - Windows

  1. Select the Tools > Internet Options menu.
  2. Select the Security tab.
  3. Click the Custom Level button.
  4. Select the Scripting > Active Scripting > Enable button.

Firefox - Windows

  1. Select Tools > Options. In newer versions of Firefox that have the menu bar disabled, select Firefox > Options > Options.
  2. Click Content.
  3. In the Content options, verify that Enable JavaScript is checked.

Opera - Windows

  1. Select Tools > Preferences.
  2. Select the Advanced tab > Content > check Enable JavaScript.

Safari - Windows

  1. Click on the Gear icon > Preferences.
  2. Select the Security tab > check Enable JavaScript.

Chrome - Mac (Version 21 and Older)

  1. Click on the Chrome > Preferences.
  2. Select the Under the Hood tab on the left.
  3. Under the Privacy section, click the Content Settings... button.
  4. Under the Javascript section, make sure Allow all sites to run Javascript (recommended) is selected.

Chrome - Mac (Version 22 +)

  1. Click on the Chrome > Preferences.
  2. Select Settings on the left.
  3. At the bottom of the page, click Show advanced settings...
  4. Under Privacy, select the Content Settings... button.
  5. Under the Javascript section, select Allow all sites to run JavaScript.

Firefox - Mac

  1. Select Firefox > Preferences.
  2. Select Content.
  3. Under the Content options, verify that Enable JavaScript is checked.

Safari - Mac

  1. Select Safari > Preferences.
  2. Select Security.
  3. Under Web content, verify that Enable JavaScript is checked.
