The purpose of the Division of Arts and Sciences is to provide the first two years of liberal arts education in the arts, communications, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics, and biological and physical sciences to meet the Associate in Arts (AA) degree requirements necessary to transfer to baccalaureate programs at colleges and universities. The AA degree program prepares the student for transfer at the junior level, especially to the State University System of Florida.  Additionally, the Division provides the 15 hours of general education credits required in the Associate in Science degree and general education requirements for related certificate programs; a program of instruction in college preparatory courses; adult basic education and GED preparatory courses; and teacher training through the Educator Preparation Institute (EPI).
