Prepare for Commencement
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! As you near the completion of your program, it may be beneficial to schedule an appointment to meet with an academic advisor for a graduation review. Appointments can be made by contacting the Student Development office at your nearest campus.
Apply for Graduation
Students should initiate the graduation application process by the deadline date listed in the official Academic Calendar for the term in which program requirements will be completed. Although a student can apply for graduation year round, applying by the deadline ensures that the student’s name will appear in the commencement remembrance program that is distributed at the ceremony. The application remains active for three consecutive terms, after which, students must reapply and repay the graduation application fee. Refer to the Fees and Expenses page of the PHSC Catalog and Student Handbook for fee information.
Students have the option to choose a PHSC academic catalog year. Students may select the current year’s academic catalog or the academic catalog from either of the two previous years, provided the student was enrolled in courses at the College during the selected catalog year and meets all graduation requirements. If you need assistance with determining your graduation year, contact the Student Development office to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor.
Students must earn at least 25 percent of the credit hours required for the degree, certificate or diploma through instruction offered by Pasco-Hernando State College.
To be eligible for a second degree, certificate or diploma, students must fulfill all the requirements of the additional program, submit another graduation application and pay an additional graduation application fee.
An application for graduation can be obtained from the Student Development office on any campus, the Admissions and Records office at the New Port Richey campus, or online.

Once your Graduation Application has been reviewed by the District Records office, you will receive a letter at the address you have on file confirming your request is being processed. For those who are participating the commencement ceremony, a separate graduation packet will be mailed approximately one month prior to the ceremony.
Commencement ceremonies are held each year at the end of term I and term II. Commencement dates are located on the Academic Calendar. Term I commencement is for students who graduated in the previous summer term and for those students completing all graduation requirements in the fall term. Term II commencement is for students completing all graduation requirements in the spring term. Students are required to purchase and wear a college cap and gown in order to participate in commencement ceremonies.
After the Ceremony
Your diploma will be mailed to you approximately six weeks after the commencement ceremony and you will receive notification from the photography company when your pictures are ready for online viewing and ordering.
