PHCC Encore Academy hosts Plus 50 information and orientation sessions

Encore Academy at Pasco Hernando Community College will host a Plus 50 Information and Orientation session on Tuesday, August 21, from 11 a.m. to noon and another session from 2 to 3 p.m. in the conference center at the New Port Richey campus, 10230 Ridge Road, and on Thursday, August 23, from 11 a.m. to noon and another session from 2 to 3 p.m. in the conference center at the Spring Hill Campus, 450 Beverly Court.

The sessions will begin with an overview of the Encore Academy Plus 50 Ageless Learning program, which provides computer workshops, personal enrichment courses and social activities designed for the plus 50 learner. The Plus 50 Completion Initiative will also be presented for those interested in completing a degree or certificate program.

The main presentation will be followed by a meet and greet with Encore Academy instructors. “This is always one of the highlights of our special events” said Debby Duncan, Encore Academy manager. “New students like the opportunity to ask questions and find out a little about the classes and the teachers before actually taking a class. Past and present members will also be available to answer questions as well.”

The Encore Academy is a service of PHCC to provide educational opportunities and special interest workshops to the plus 50 community. For more information about the Encore Academy or the orientation session, please call 1-877-TRY-PHCC or visit www.phcc.edu/encore
