PHCC's Jessica Amador named FCSAA Defensive Player of the Week

Pasco-Hernando Community College’s Jessica Amador was named the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) Defensive Player of the Week in women’s volleyball for games through October 20, 2012.

Amador, a 5’8” freshman, racked up 154 digs in 19 sets, averaging 8.105 per set. Amador has 15 appearances in the 25 Dig Club, including the top spot with 48 digs vs. Florida College (9/20).

“Jessica is a great asset to our team. She has great reading abilities on defense and her stats reflect that. This is her third time this year being named player of the week, which is outstanding,” said Kim Whitney, PHCC’s volleyball team coach.

PHCC Division II volleyball team headed into regional competition with a 17 win, 14 loss season and won their first competition sending them to the semi-finals in regionals.
