PHCC receives grant to fund pre-collegiate programs

The Community Foundation of Hernando County recently presented the Pasco-Hernando Community College Foundation with a $3,000 grant. The grant was provided to support two pre-collegiate programs: Take Stock in Children and the College Reach Out Program. Anesta Boice, Chair of the Community Foundation of Hernando County presented the gift on November 2, 2012 to Maria Hixon, Director of Development for the PHCC Foundation, and Holly Wilson, PHCC Take Stock in Children and College Reach Out Program Coordinator.

The PHCC Take Stock in Children and College Reach Out programs were developed to reach “at-risk” youth in the community, mentoring these students through high school graduation and then assisting them in obtaining a college education. The Community Foundation of Hernando County, a division of the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, was established to support the charitable needs of the Hernando County community through creative philanthropy, vision and leadership.
