The Pasco-Hernando Community College Foundation received a $5,126 gift from the Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. These funds are part of a funding match from Florida Blue (formerly Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida) and the Florida College System Foundation for a total of $10,177 to support the variety of health programs at PHCC. Another portion of the match was provided by Burgess Chambers and Associates of Orlando, Fla., in the amount of $5,400. Combined, these gifts and matching funds provide approximately $21,000 in scholarships to 21 students this academic year. Each award is estimated at $1,000 and covers tuition costs over the fall and spring semesters. This is the second year Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point has supported this group of health program scholarships for the students of PHCC. Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point and the Medical Center of Trinity are local hospitals in the HCA system.
