Encore Academy at Pasco-Hernando Community College will host representatives from HPH Hospice to provide an Advance Directives—It’s Your Right to Decide seminar. This event will be held on Wednesday, June 12 and Thursday, July 11 on the North Campus, in Brooksville, 11415 Ponce de Leon Blvd. from 2 to 3 p.m. PHCC’s Encore Academy provides educational opportunities to adults over the age of 50.
Seminar attendees will learn that developing an advance directive now will help define a person’s wishes and easily communicate them to family, loved ones and legal representatives. “We plan for everything—weddings, retirement, education, children and careers. The one life-changing event that we don’t plan for is how we would like to be cared for at end-of-life,” says Tracy Formica, RN, Physician Liaison, Hernando County. A person’s health care decisions, when clearly outlined in an advance directive, can alleviate emotional stress to family members.
There are no fees for this seminar; however, registration through Encore Academy is required. To register, please call 352-797-5167.
