The Encore Academy at Pasco-Hernando Community College will offer a Getting Familiar with Microsoft Office series of workshops in July on the West Campus, in New Port Richey, 10230 Ridge Road. The Encore Academy is a service of PHCC that provides educational opportunities to adults over the age of 50.
Introduction to Microsoft Word I and II – Tuesday, 7/9 and Thursday, 7/11 from 6 to 8 p.m. Learn to create, save and revise documents using fonts, formats and cutting and pasting. The use of color and graphics is explored. Originally designed for beginners, Microsoft Office 2010 is different from previous versions of the program; even experienced users may find it useful. $24
Introduction to Microsoft Excel I and II – Tuesday, 7/16 and Thursday, 7/18 from 6 to 8 p.m. Students learn to perform numeric calculations rapidly and accurately through basic spreadsheet creation using data, formulas and predefined functions such as AutoSum, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX and COUNT. $24
Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint I and II – Tuesday, 7/23 and Thursday, 7/25 from 6 to 8 p.m. Students learn to create a simple on-screen presentation, insert text and objects, use proofing tools and modify by rearranging, copying and deleting slides. $24
Introduction to Microsoft Access – Tuesday, 7/30 from 6 to 8 p.m. Learn the basics of this information management program that helps you store information for reference, reporting and analysis. $12
All workshops are open to the community. The registration fee is $12 for each two-hour workshop or $24 for each 4-hour topic. Membership in the Encore Academy is not required.
