The Pasco-Hernando Community College Chapter of the Association of Florida Colleges and the Tampa Bay Times, presenting sponsor, are working together for the fourth consecutive year to present Hernando/Pasco Has Talent. Auditions will be held between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 5 at the PHCC West Campus in New Port Richey, 10230 Ridge Road in the Performing Arts Center. Applications are now being accepted and space is limited to 100 acts.
Fifteen finalists will be chosen to perform during the Grand Finale show scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, also in the PHCC Performing Arts Center. The MC for the Grand Finale will be Steve Persall, Tampa Bay Times Movie Critic.
Broadway stars Jimmy Ferraro and Dee Etta are among the judges who will determine the winners of the three cash prizes. Ferraro made his debut on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning musical, Fiddler on the Roof, for which he received the Best Actor in a Musical award. His gift for opera and musical theater has led him to star with some of the biggest stars in the entertainment business. He also worked behind the scenes as a theatrical producer and director.
Dee Etta is an accomplished Broadway singer and actress with roles in several award-winning musicals. Etta has traveled the country singing, acting and opening for comedian, Pat Cooper.
Hernando/Pasco Has Talent is produced by the Pasco-Hernando Community College Chapter of the Association of Florida Colleges with presenting sponsor, Tampa Bay Times. Star sponsors include Sun Toyota of New Port Richey and Famous Tate Appliance & Bedding Centers. Supporting cast sponsors include: Ms. Barbara Craig; George’s Wholesale Tires; Publix; and Stassi’s Italian Grill.
