Pasco-Hernando Community College men’s basketball program will host two events in October. A Coaches Clinic for middle school and high school basketball coaches is scheduled on October 19, 2013 from 9 a.m. to noon. Attending coaches will meet new PHCC Men’s Basketball Head Coach, Micheal Jones and learn about basketball philosophy, zone defense/offense, undersize post play and more. Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) officials will review new rules and guests will hear from Sean Hanrahan, Head Coach, Men’s Basketball at Warner University, Lake Wales, Fla. Coaches Clinic fee is $25 per coach.
PHCC also will host a high school basketball round robin tournament on October 26 and 27, 2013. Varsity high school basketball teams will benefit from this preseason tournament and will help coaching staff assess players and foster teamwork. Tournament fee is $150 per team with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month; the remaining proceeds will benefit the PHCC men’s basketball program.
All events will be held at the PHCC West Campus in New Port Richey, 10230 Ridge Road in the gymnasium.
