Pasco-Hernando Community College students, staff and faculty recently paddled down the Weeki Wachee River on two separate kayak trips. PHCC adventurers launched single and double-manned kayaks, exploring 5.5 miles of the river from Weeki Wachee Springs State Park to Rogers Park. The trips were sponsored by the PHCC Intramural Sports and Recreation Department at no cost to PHCC students. John Fey, Coordinator of PHCC Intramural Sports and Recreation said, “Our mission is to give students a chance to experience PHCC beyond the classroom, meet new people, build friendships and get and stay active.” The program offers a variety of activities, including basketball, flag or fantasy football, ultimate Frisbee, yoga, golf and corn toss competitions.
