PHCC's Jessica Amador Named FCSAA Defensive Player of the Week for Second Time This Season

PHCC women's volleyballPasco-Hernando Community College’s Jessica Amador, a sophomore libero from Oviedo, Fla., was named the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) Defensive Player of the Week in women’s volleyball for games played through October 19, 2013.

Amador, a 5’8” sophomore, libero, earned FCSAA Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season, after helping the Lady Conquistadors to a 5-0 record.

“Jessica had an unbelievable week, posting 25 or more digs in every match she played in,” said Kim Whitney, Assistant Athletic Director and Women’s Volleyball Head Coach. The sophomore topped the 30 mark in digs in four matches; 32 vs. Clearwater Christian, 33 vs. South Florida State College, 34 vs. Eastern Florida State College and 36 vs. St. Johns River State College (25 vs. Lake-Sumter State College). She had a total of 160 digs with an average of 7.619 per set.
