The Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) Foundation 2014 Performing Arts Series presents Monday Monday on Saturday, February 22 at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, on West Campus in New Port Richey at 10230 Ridge Road.
Get ready for a journey through time with Monday Monday, a musical tribute group paying homage to the lineup of one of the most harmony-rich pop groups of the '60s, the Mamas and the Papas. Monday Monday performs legendary songs by the group and other hits from the recording industry legends of folk, pop and rock that surrounded the Woodstock era and the early '70s.
The Mamas and the Papas were an American folk-rock vocal group that recorded and performed from 1965 to 1968. They released five studio albums, 17 singles and sold 40 million records worldwide. The group was comprised of John Phillips, Denny Doherty, Cass Elliot and Michelle Phillips. Their sound was based on four-voice harmonies adapted to the new “beat” style of the early '60s.
Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more, seniors, season ticket holders and PHSC students, faculty and staff. Tickets can be purchased online at www.phsc.edu/tix. The PHSC Box Office is open Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the PHSC College Store on West Campus in New Port Richey or can be reached at 727-816-3707.
