The Encore Academy at Pasco-Hernando State College will offer a Getting Familiar with Microsoft Office series of workshops beginning in March on the West Campus, 10230 Ridge Road, New Port Richey. The Encore Academy is a PHSC program that provides educational opportunities to adults over the age of 50.
Microsoft Word – Monday, 3/17 and Wednesday, 3/19 from 6 to 8 p.m. Learn to create, save and revise documents by using fonts, formats, and cutting and pasting. The use of color and graphics is explored. Originally designed for beginners, Microsoft Office 2010 is different from previous versions of the program—even experienced users may find this workshop useful.
Microsoft Excel – Monday, 3/24 and Wednesday, 3/26 from 6 to 8 p.m. Students learn to produce professional looking documents that perform numeric calculations rapidly and accurately through basic spreadsheet creation using data, formulas and predefined functions such as AutoSum, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX and COUNT.
Microsoft PowerPoint – Monday, 3/31 and Wednesday, 4/2 from 6 to 8 p.m. Students learn to create a simple on-screen presentation, insert text and objects, use proofing tools, and modify by rearranging, copying and deleting slides.
Introduction to Microsoft Access – Monday, 4/7 and Wednesday, 4/9 from 6 to 8 p.m. Learn the basics of this information management program that helps store information for reference, reporting and analysis, and learn techniques to overcome the limitations encountered when managing large amounts of information.
All workshops are open to the community. Adults of all ages are welcome to register. The registration fee is $24 for each set of workshops and includes four hours of class time.
