PHSC and Career Source to Help Pasco and Hernando Manufacturers Hire Skilled Workers

Pasco-Hernando State College and Career Source will hold two Manufacturing Café events. Information to be shared includes opportunities for on-the-job training programs available to local Hernando and Pasco County manufacturers. The event for the Hernando area will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Alumi-Guard, in Brooksville, 2401 Corporate Blvd. from 8 to 9 a.m. The Pasco area event will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the SMARTstart Dade City Incubator, 15000 Citrus Country Dr., Suite 103, Dade City, from 8 to 9 a.m.

PHSC and Career Source have partnered to address the gap in skilled labor in the manufacturing industry of Florida. The College, through Florida TRADE Grant funds, has developed custom training programs to assist area manufacturers in finding and hiring skilled laborers.

The event also is a networking opportunity that will allow attendees to share their challenges and most pressing issues manufacturers face each day.

Alumi-Guard is the host sponsor of PHSC’s Manufacturing Café event on April 9, and SMARTstart Incubator of Dade City is the host sponsor of PHSC’s Manufacturing Café event on April 16. Call 727.816.3227 to reserve your space today, or send an email to Margie Burnham at burnham@phsc.edu.
