The Corporate Training department of Pasco-Hernando State College recently announced a new Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) Certified Production Technician (CPT) training program. The course will be held on Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., July 14 – 31, 2014 at the Spring Hill Campus, 450 Beverly Court, Spring Hill.
The Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) is an industry-led training, assessment and certification system focused on the core skills and knowledge needed by production workers. The MSSC system awards the Production Technician Certification to non-incumbent and incumbent workers. Pasco-Hernando State College is a certified MSSC assessment center, offering training and certification through its Corporate Training department.
The Certified Production Technician (CPT) Training Program includes courses in four manufacturing modules: safety awareness, production and processes, maintenance awareness and quality assurance. Certificates are awarded at the conclusion of each module when passing scores are earned. A CPT Certification is awarded once all four module assessments are passed.
The MSSC CPT course fee is $1,100 per person; all instructional materials and four assessments are included. Employers may qualify for up to 50 percent in training reimbursement funds through Career Source Pasco-Hernando. This class is funded in part by a $15,000,000 Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCT) grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration.
