PHSC Rao Musunuru, M.D. Art Gallery Announces 2014-15 Exhibit Schedule

Pasco-Hernando State College recently announced the Rao Musunuru, M.D. Art Gallery’s Elemental Grandeur 2014-2015 exhibit line-up. This year’s fine art exhibits will provide gallery visitors the opportunity to experience art in its most simplistic form and art that influences the world and offers insight into human diversity. The exhibits will be displayed in the Rao Musunuru, M.D. Art Gallery in Alric C.T. Pottberg Library building on the PHSC New Port Richey campus, 10230 Ridge Road. All exhibits are offered at no charge and open to the public.

The Creative Works  Aug. 21–Sept. 25, 2014
Presented by: The Red Apple School Students
Students of The Red Apple School display their innate creative abilities in this extraordinary exhibit—a true testament to the school’s mission to educate and nurture developmentally disabled adults.

Coexistence: The Art of Living  Oct. 2–31, 2014
Presented by: Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida
Originally an international competition hosted by The Museum on the Seam in Jerusalem, this partial exhibit is a striking display of visual art calling for social change through the exploration of visual reflections on the state of intolerance and the meaning of coexistence.

Stitches in Time  Nov. 6–Dec. 16, 2014
Presented by: The Embroiderers’ Guild of America–Gulfview Chapter
Visitors will experience the intricacy of hand embroidered needlework of varying techniques and styles.

Visions of Florida: The Photographic Art by Clyde Butcher  Jan. 8–29, 2015
Artist: Clyde Butcher              
Clyde Butcher, famous for his large scale black-and-white landscape photography of the untouched Florida Everglades, will delight visitors with his Visions of Florida exhibit.

Keeping a Legacy Alive in Clay  Feb. 5–March 5, 2015
Artist: David Mack
David Mack’s Heritage Vessel Collection combines wheel thrown functional vessels with sculptural forms of historical people of color such as Harriet Tubman, Cesar Chavez, Nelson Mandela, Jimi Hendrix and more.

Moments in Place  Mar. 17–Apr. 16, 2015
Artist: Joseph Gamble
An inspection of places and people stateside and abroad, Gamble grasps a morsel of time and portrays it with great depth and truth in a magnificent display of photography.

Reflections  Apr. 23–May 20, 2015
Presented by: PHSC Möbius Contributors and Students of the Arts
Visitors will view works from PHSC students and the 2014 student-published Möbius Literature & Arts Magazine.

Sixth Annual Faculty and Staff Summer Art Show   May 28–June 24, 2015
PHSC faculty and staff will showcase their original works through a variety of artistic mediums.

Quilting Pasco  July 8–Aug. 5, 2015
Presented by: Members of the West Pasco Quilters’ Guild, Inc.
The Quilting Pasco exhibit displays quilting as an art form that honors perfect corners and exquisite stitches in elaborate designs.
