The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) is the second largest grant program offered by the U.S. Department of Education. The FSEOG are federal funds for undergraduate students working toward their first bachelor’s degree. The FSEOG does not require repayment by the student.

The student financial aid file must be complete prior to awarding the FSEOG.
How is eligibility determined?
Eligibility is based upon financial need and is determined by a formula consistently applied to all applicants.
FSEOG is offered to students who demonstrate a high financial aid need. PHSC determines the award based on the student’s Pell Grant eligibility on the SAR.
Students are required to enroll in a minimum of six credit hours per term to receive the FSEOG.
Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress.
The amount of the FSEOG varies from $500 - $1000 (annual figure), depending on the student’s eligibility.
How the FSEOG is awarded?
Students who submit their FAFSA by the priority deadline of April 15 each year receive priority awarding.
Once the FSEOG amount is awarded, the student will be able to view their award in their PHSC WISE account.
Students who receive the FSEOG also receive the Pell Grant, which has paid for tuition and book costs. Therefore, the unused SEOG funds are issued to each student via their PHSC OneCard.
