CMS Law Enforcement Auxiliary Officer Basic Recruit Training Program―Technical Certificate

Law enforcement officers are charged with maintaining order, ensuring the safety and protection of citizens and their property, and enforcing motor vehicle and criminal laws. Auxiliary law enforcement officers support full-time officers and help to prevent, detect and investigate crime, apprehend criminal offenders, direct traffic and possibly assist in the prosecution process.

Law enforcement auxiliary officers must be community oriented, physically fit and mentally stable, brave, honest, reliable, compassionate and able to maintain sound judgment in high-pressure situations.

The purpose of this commission-approved program is to train applicants for compensated or uncompensated employment or appointment by criminal justice agencies, to assist or aid full-time or part-time officers.

This program can be completed in less than one year if students attend classes on a full-time basis.

This program can be completed on the East Campus in Dade City.
