E-business consists of business and marketing processes conducted over computer networks. It has changed the way organizations in many industries operate, virtually touching every business sector. E-business professionals with a career path focused on software applications are needed for management of e-business systems, organization and website design. Talented technicians are also needed to set up, maintain and oversee the software applications that are required to run the e-business.
E-business professionals should have an understanding of business practices and principles. They must be willing to keep up with new technologies and emerging trends, be detail oriented and able to communicate effectively.
The purpose of this program is to provide a sequence of courses that deliver coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in information technology (IT); provide technical skill proficiency, including competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, occupation-specific skills and knowledge of all aspects of IT.
This program can be completed in less than one year if students attend classes on a full-time basis.
This program can be completed on the East Campus in Dade City, North Campus in Brooksville and West Campus in New Port Richey. General education courses and some accounting courses may be completed on the Spring Hill Campus.
