E-Business Technology―Associate in Science

The e-business technology field consists of marketing, sales and other business initiatives conducted via computer-mediated networks. In this quickly expanding profession, technology business professionals perform a variety of duties that require training in both business and technology.

A solid understanding of business principles, ambition and the ability to envision "the big picture" are essential to the successful e-business professional. Additional talent includes strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.


The purpose of this program is to provide a sequence of courses that deliver coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in e-business such as computer specialists, database technicians, security specialists, Web content specialists, developers; technical, systems and network analysts; and Web security specialists and Internet technical support specialists. The program also teaches technical skill proficiency and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, occupation-specific skills and knowledge of all aspects of information technology.

This program focuses on a balance of business and technology components and allows the student to gain additional skills in one of four areas of specialization: Business, Technology, Software and Security.

Industry Certification Prep

Throughout program coursework students will be taught the necessary skills to prepare for the following industry standard certification exams:

  • Certiport IC3
  • CIW Associate
  • CIW Associate Design Specialist with appropriate elective


This program can be completed in approximately two years if students attend classes on a full-time basis.


This program can be completed on the West Campus in New Port Richey.
