Financial Services―Associate in Science
Career paths in the financial services industry are quite varied, as are the types of companies that hire finance professionals. Financial services graduates may find themselves working in one of the following business sectors: banking, insurance, securities, investing or financial planning. Ambitious, eager, productive and quick-thinking financial managers and analysts will find that advancement opportunities are generally plentiful in this industry.
Successful professionals in the finance industry have well-developed interpersonal skills, work well under pressure, adhere to deadlines, enjoy research, manage time well and are good instructors.
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment as financial planners, register representatives, financial analysts, loan counselors and loan officers working throughout the financial services industry. The main concepts or duties include assisting in developing financial plans, analyzing client information and providing client services in all areas of financial planning.
This program can be completed in approximately two years if students attend classes on a full-time basis.
This program can be completed on East Campus in Dade City, North Campus in Brooksville and West Campus in New Port Richey. General education courses and some accounting courses may be completed on the Spring Hill Campus.
Courses and internship components are part of the program curriculum.
