Internet Services Technology—Associate in Science
Webmasters are responsible for all technical aspects of a website, including maximizing website performance, speed and ease of use.
These technologically oriented individuals demonstrate creative flare and possess excellent problem-solving skills. Webmasters approve and integrate Web content, often including complex layers of information combined with visually appealing graphics, photography and design elements.
To prepare students to enter the workforce as Internet/intranet technicians, Web technicians, Internet/intranet administrators, Web administrators, Internet/intranet developers, website developers, webmasters, Internet support specialists, Internet managers, Web managers, or to provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations. The content prepares individuals to work in Internet, intranet and extranet environments; installing, configuring, designing and managing Intranet and Web-based resources. Program completers will receive training that will prepare them to take the Network+ and A+ certification examination. These exams are not offered on campus.
Industry Certification Prep
Throughout program coursework students will be taught the necessary skills to pass the following industry standard certification exams:
- Certiport IC3
- Cisco CCENT
- CIW Associate
- CIW Associate Design Specialist
- Comp TIA A+
- Comp TIA Network+
This program can be completed in approximately two years if students attend classes on a fulltime basis.
This degree program can be completed on West Campus in New Port Richey.
All courses for this degree are offered in a traditional classroom setting. More than 55 percent of the courses from this program are also offered online.
