Network Support Technician—Certificate
Network support technicians must demonstrate proficiency with computer literacy, networking fundamentals, operating systems, network security and administration.
An effective network support technician must be able to demonstrate the ability to listen, diagnose, and problem-solve computer related issues. Successful support technicians can also benefit from knowledge of software installation and set up or repair of devices.
The purpose of this program is to prepare students to enter the workforce as cabling specialists, network control operators and network technicians; or, to provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations. Upon successful completion of this program, an individual may transfer into the two-year Associate in Science in Network Systems Technology degree program.
The courses in this program also are part of the Associate in Science degree in Network Systems Technology.
Upon completion, students need to contact the Admissions and Student Records office to apply for certificate(s). Students are encouraged to complete courses in the AS degree program.
This program can be completed in approximately one year if students attend classes on a full-time basis.
This program can be completed on the West Campus in New Port Richey.
