Nursing Assistant—Technical Certificate
Nursing assistants perform routine tasks under the supervision of nursing and medical staff. They tend to patients’ needs, deliver messages, serve meals, and help patients to eat, dress and bathe. They also provide skin care to patients, monitor basic vital signs, set up equipment and observe patients’ physical, mental and emotional conditions.
A caring and empathetic personality is highly desirable in this field. Physical strength is also a great benefit as nursing assistants often help patients with limited mobility.
To provide the knowledge and skills required to pass the written and skills portion of the State of Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam and enter the workforce as a CNA in a health care facility. Students who successfully complete this program are eligible to take the state exam. This program does not meet the minimum requirements for Federal Financial Aid, however, other forms of financial aid may be available.
This can be completed in one semester or less.
This program can be completed on the East Campus in Dade City, North Campus in Brooksville and the West Campus in New Port Richey.
Courses and clinical components are part of the curriculum.
