Office Administration—Associate in Science

Office assistants are an integral part of the everyday operation of the businesses for which they work.

Effective administrative assistants are highly organized with excellent writing and communication skills. They should be detail oriented, able to use office technology and equipment efficiently and willing to continuously update technical skills.


To prepare a person for employment as an office systems manager, administrative secretary, executive office administrator or to provide supplemental training for a person previously or currently employed in these occupations. PHSC offers several certificates that can be earned as students work toward the AS degree. The Associate in Science degree in Office Administration includes a certificate in Office Management—Legal Specialization, Office Specialist and Office Support. As certificates are completed, students need to contact the Admissions and Student Records office to apply for certificate(s).


This program can be completed in approximately two years if students are attending classes on a full-time basis.


This degree can be completed on the West Campus in New Port Richey; however, many courses within the degree are available on all campuses and/or online.


All courses for this degree are offered in the traditional classroom setting. Approximately 80 percent of this program's courses are offered online also.
