Phlebotomists collect appropriate and adequate blood samples for analysis at the request of physicians. Their expertise in the collection of blood samples ensures that accurate test results are achieved for a variety of diagnostic purposes. These skilled technicians follow rigorous safety precautions to prevent the spread of infectious diseases to themselves and others. Maintaining a clean and organized area, using appropriate instruments, following safety procedures, and properly disposing of biohazardous materials are of utmost importance.
Successful phlebotomists maintain strict confidentiality, project a clean professional appearance and enjoy working with people. To minimize patient discomfort, they should have a friendly and empathetic disposition.
