Information Center

Your call is our number one priority

The Information Center is a clearinghouse for information and questions regarding PHSC. The three critical areas of responsibility for staff are customer service, recruitment and retention of students. Housed at the West Campus in New Port Richey, the Information Center answers calls for all five PHSC locations at the main campus telephone numbers, as well as the College’s toll free number, 1-855-NOW-PHSC (1-855-669-7472). Internal callers may reach the department by dialing “0.”

Information Center representatives are proficient in customer service skills. They are accountable to the College’s many callers and are trained to know the answer to most of the commonly asked questions regarding PHSC. If a representative does not know the answer, they will either find it or connect the caller with the appropriate contact. Examples of the types of information and services that the Information Center is accustomed to providing include:

  • Answering questions on important dates (i.e. registration, drop/add, testing and graduation)
  • Instruction on how to obtain transcripts
  • Information on the hours of operation for all departments
  • Providing times, dates, and information on special events and extracurricular activities on all campuses
  • Support services on navigating the PHSC website to find general information
  • Assisting callers with the use of PHSC remote registration systems, (i.e. WISE and Florida Virtual Campus)
  • Conducting outbound calling efforts for the purpose of recruitment and retention
  • Sending automated messages regarding class cancelations, orientation reminders, and campus closures
  • Following up on a variety of contacts to provide more information and admissions assistance
  • Sending brochures to callers who prefer printed material
  • Emailing general information to students/prospective students regarding programs and services
  • Maintaining online events calendar
  • Responding to chat messages
