Pasco-Hernando State College students of an Introduction to Statistics course will present their final product from a 10-week project during a poster presentation session on Monday, July 16 from 2 to 4 p.m., in Dade City at the East Campus Library, 36727 Blanton Road. The students worked for 10 weeks replicating nationally conducted polls, collecting and analyzing real data on topics ranging from gun policy to immigration.
The American Statistical Association (ASA) suggests that undergraduate statistics students should have the ability to think in a statistical manner, and that they should learn statistics in a conceptual way. The project culminates in a poster presentation, which fostered active learning with substantial use of technology.
The poster presentation event is open to the community. For more information about PHSC programs and services, please visit phsc.edu.
