Pasco-Hernando State College Signs Agreement with Hernando County School District and Hernando County Government for Future Citizen Success Center - The demand for higher-wage jobs and skilled workers to fill them has never been more important to Hernando County. In an agreement signed today, Pasco-Hernando State College, the Hernando County School District, and the Hernando County Government joined efforts to build a career and technical training facility entitled the Citizen Success Center. The center will offer convenient streamlined workforce training to prepare residents for direct entry into positions available in Hernando County.
The new facility will also be supported by private companies and partnerships with local business partners. "This important initiative is indeed paramount," said Dr. Timothy Beard, PHSC President. "Our new facility will provide career and technical training skills for Hernando County residents so they can earn higher wages in local, in-demand workforce positions."
Today's MOU is the first step in creating a dynamic, campus-centered educational facility with the mission of building specific skills to meet employers' needs in specific career and technical positions.
The educational building, to be located on 17 acres at the Brooksville Tampa Bay Regional Airport, has an expected completion date of Fall 2023.
