Innovation Collective (IC) hosts events throughout the nation that connect communities with ideas, opportunities, and resources to establish and grow new businesses. Summits feature high-profile corporate executives, innovators, and entrepreneurs representing companies such as Facebook, SpaceX, Boeing and Google. Presenters describe the opportunities and challenges inherent in creating new businesses, products, and services. Summit participants also enjoy interactive workshops and time to mingle with mentors and IC representatives. IC Founder and CEO Nick Smoot help lead these highly interactive events. “It is always so much fun to be a part of the magic that happens at our IC Summits. The program and mentors from huge companies are focused on one thing, unlock the potential in everyone at the event to build better lives and companies.”
The IC Winter Summit in Brooksville features Linda Carnell, a Microsoft executive turned entrepreneur, and William Bozeman, M.D., a researcher and innovator in the field of emergency medicine. Carnell, a top-performing Microsoft executive, helped launch Encarta, Microsoft’s revolutionary digital version of the hardbound encyclopedia as well as other successful projects. She later established a paper and crafts company that became an international sensation. Dr. Bozeman’s experience includes post-trauma and cardiac arrest resuscitation, tactical (SWAT), and disaster response medicine. He has also served as a NASA Space Shuttle support physician. After conducting extensive national research projects, he teaches new innovative life-saving approaches in the use of electrical and TASER weapons.
PHSC is excited to continue our collaboration with IC to ensure more job opportunities for our students. Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs Sonia Thorn says it’s an event not to be missed as we work toward economic growth and building stronger relationships with our community partners. “Our partnership aligns with the institution's entrepreneurship education and training initiatives. Programs like the Winter Summit are designed to invigorate our community to all the possibilities for the future of work and the journey an individual takes to get there. PHSC looks forward to being an integral part of that future for the communities we serve for almost 50 years.”
