Pasco-Hernando State College was awarded the 2020 Excellence in Inclusivity Award by the North Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce for the “It Takes Us” programing addressing social justice and race relations. Director of Student Life and Leadership Jessica White accepted the award virtually on behalf of the college at the chamber’s November Excellence Awards Evening.

In her remarks, White acknowledged the collaboration of many committed individuals who contributed to this honor, while acknowledging the career contributions of, Imani Asukile, director, global and multicultural awareness equity and special assistant to the president. “We collectively felt this award should be dedicated to Imani’s long-standing service to our institution and for his commitment to equity, fairness and social justice,” said White.

“We appreciate the North Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce for recognizing PHSC, and especially our faculty and staff at the Porter Campus, with the Excellence in Inclusivity Award. PHSC and our Porter Campus team have an excellent track record in going above and beyond to ensuring success at our College and in the community,” said Timothy L. Beard, Ph.D., PHSC president. “Indeed, I am proud of PHSC for all of our efforts to ensure equity, fairness and inclusivity at all of our campuses.”
