The Internet offers numerous opportunities for entrepreneurs to start their own e-businesses with minimal startup costs. It also allows existing businesses to expand their customer base to online markets.

Job Potential Earnings

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, salaries for Web developers vary depending on the employer, the specialty and the geographic area. In general, annual salaries for Web developers start around $43,000. Salaries for more experienced professionals are approximately $75,000.

  • No certification is required for this program.
  • It is recommended that students take both CGS 1000 Computer Concepts and CGS1100 Microcomputer Applications early in their program.
  • It is recommended that students take CGS 2821 Graphics and Multimedia in a Web Environment before taking CGS 2827 Advanced Web Design.
  • PHSC offers four certificates that can be earned as students work toward the E-Business Technology AS degree: E-Business Software (after 21 hours of study), E-Business Technology (after 21 hours of study), E-Business Ventures (after 24 hours of study) and E-Business Technical (after 24 hours of study). As the certificate hours of study requirements are completed, students need to contact the Admissions and Student Records office to apply for certificate(s).
