E-business consists of business and marketing processes conducted over computer networks. This can be in a business-to-consumer or business-to-business environment. The E-Business Ventures certificate program is designed for the student seeking more advanced Web page design skills and knowledge pertaining to the use of graphics and multimedia in the e-business environment, while also being introduced to other technical aspects of information technology (IT) careers.

The courses in this certificate program also are part of the Associate in Science in E-Business Technology program. After receiving their certificate, students are encouraged to continue their education by completing the courses in the AS degree.

Job Outlook

The Internet offers numerous opportunities for entrepreneurs to start their own e-businesses with minimal startup costs. It also allows existing businesses to expand their customer base to online markets.

Job Potential Earnings

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, salaries for information systems analysts vary depending on the employer, the specialty and the geographic area. In general, annual salaries for information systems analysts average $40,000 with midrange salaries from $33,000 to $46,000. Salaries for more experienced professionals average approximately $77,000, depending on geographic location and industry.
