CARES Act Emergency Relief Disclosure
Pasco-Hernando State College was allocated funds from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). The CARES Act established and funded the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF).
Emergency Grant to Students
Pasco-Hernando State College acknowledges that our institution has signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement and that the college intends to use no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

Pasco-Hernando State College has made a CARES Act Grant request form available to students through the PHSC web site. The CARES Act Grant request form provides students with a self-identifying method to report eligible financial expenses the student has experienced as a result of COVID-19 and campus disruption. The CARES Act Grant request form provides the student with grant eligibility criteria and options to return the form to the Financial Aid Office for processing. CARES Act grant funds are awarded to students in the amounts of $3,000 (special groups), $1,000, $750, or $650 depending upon student eligibility and enrollment.
CARES Act Grant fund student awards were approved by a PHSC institutional committee which included the President’s Administrative Leadership Team. PHSC students have been provided with CARES Act Grant instruction, directions, and guidance through the institution’s web site, students emails, and social media communication.
