Eligibility Requirements
The student must:
- Be a current PHSC student
- Be 18 years of age or older as of the deadline for submissions, which will be November 19, 2024
- A legal resident of the United States
President Holiday Card Artwork Contest Terms and Conditions
- Eligibility: This Holiday Card Artwork Contest (“Contest”) is open only to those who are (a) current students of Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC). (b) 18 years of age or older as of the deadline for submissions which will be November 19, 2024, (c) legal residents of the United States.
- Agreement to Rules: By participating, the student (hereinafter “Artist”) agrees to be fully unconditionally bound by these Rules, and Artist represents and warrants that Artist meets the eligibility requirements. In addition, Artist agrees to accept the decisions of PHSC as final and binding as it relates to the content of this contest.
- How to Enter: PHSC will be providing students with a webform which shall be completed by the Artist with student name and student ID number. After submission of the webform, the student will automatically receive instructions to their student email address of how to submit their artwork. The Artist will also be provided a Consent for Submittal of Artwork for Judging which be provided to the Artist. This Consent will need to be signed by the Artist and provided at same time as submittal of their artwork. Without this Consent, the artwork will not be considered for judging. Any Artwork submitted must be original artwork of the Student Artist. Artists must fulfill all eligibility requirements by the deadlines set forth herein to be eligible to win the contest. Artists who do not meet the deadlines or eligibility requirements or do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be disqualified at the sole discretion of PHSC. The winning Artist will only be eligible for one prize under this contest.
- If Artist uses fraudulent methods or otherwise attempts to circumvent the rules, your submission may be removed from eligibility at the sole discretion of PHSC.
- Prizes: The winning Artist will receive a check in the amount of $500 from the Pasco-Hernando State College Foundation. No cash or other prize substitution will be permitted. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation, any and all federal, state, and/or local taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of Winner.
- Winner Selection and Notification: All Artwork submittals will be provided to a panel of five Judges that will include representatives of the President’s office, representatives of PHSC Marketing, and representatives of the Pasco-Hernando State College Foundation. All artwork will remain anonymous to the judges until a winner is chosen. The judging will be done privately. The winning Artist will be notified by email within a week after the submission deadline.
- Rights Granted by Artist: By entering this Contest, Artist understands and agrees that PHSC, anyone acting on behalf of PHSC, and PHSC’s licensees, successors, and assigns, shall have limited copyright rights and exclusive license to potentially use the artwork for the printing and distribution of a PHSC Holiday Card, publication of the artwork on social media and in the Perspective Magazine to celebrate the winner’s talents and winning submission. The Artist has the right to their own copyrights with the exception of what is being granted to PHSC and the PHSC Foundation on this limited basis. Additionally, Artist grants a limited right to announce the winner and again celebrate the talent and submittal, by allowing PHSC and PHSC Foundation to use their name, portrait, voice, likeness, image, statements about the Contest, and any other student directory information for news, publicity, information, trade, advertising, public relations, and promotional purposes without any further compensation, notice, review, or consent as it relates to the artwork for this contest.
- Terms and Conditions: PHSC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest should virus, bug, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or other cause beyond PHSC’s control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Contest.
- Limitation of Liability: By entering, the Artist agrees to release and hold harmless PHSC and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from: (i) such Artist’s participation in the Contest and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software, or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, or Internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process; (v) electronic or human error in the administration of the Contest promotion or the processing of entries.
- Disputes: This Contest is governed by the laws of the state of Florida, United States of America, without respect to conflict of law doctrines. As a condition of participating in this Contest, participant agrees that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, solely and exclusively before a state court located in Pasco County, Florida having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances shall participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorney’s fees. Participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.

- By participating for the Contest, the Artist, has affirmatively reviewed, accepted, and agreed to all of the Official Rules.
