Law enforcement officers are charged with maintaining order, ensuring the safety and protection of citizens and their property, and enforcing motor vehicle and criminal laws. Auxiliary law enforcement officers support full-time officers and help to prevent, detect and investigate crime, apprehend criminal offenders, direct traffic and possibly assist in the prosecution process.
