According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Labor Market Statistics, starting annual salaries for a police officer and sheriff's deputy begin at about $41,000 with a mid-level pay around $58,000.
Prospective students should attend a mandatory orientation at least six months prior to the start of the Academy class they wish to attend. Orientation sessions are held on the third Thursday of the following months:
All sessions will be begin at 2 p.m. and will be held in the Public Service Technology Building at the East Campus in Dade City located at 36727 Blanton Road.
A shift friendly academy (two days per week) is offered, based on the shifts of local Sheriff's offices. This academy is offered once a year.
