Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the re-appointment of Nicole Newlon, J.D., Jeffrey Harrington, Ph.D., and Kirk Wilson to the Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) District Board of Trustees (DBOT).
Newlon is a partner at Johnson, Newlon and DeCort, P.A., a Tampa Fla. law firm. Newlon previously served as a former Dade City Commissioner and attended PHSC (formerly known as Pasco-Hernando Community College) as a dual enrollment student in 1990-1991. Newlon was appointed to the DBOT in June 2023, and during this tenure, Newlon served as vice chair in 2024-25 and is the current chair for the 2025-26 academic year. Newlon’s reappointment term is set to last until May 31, 2028.
Harrington is self-employed as a consultant, previously serving as a Professor of Practice at Norwich University, Chief Deputy for the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office and Chief of Police for the New Port Richey Police Department. Harrington rejoined the trustees on May 20, 2025, after being reinstated to the board by Governor DeSantis. Harrington initially departed from the board in May 2024 after serving the college since 2017. Harrington’s reappointment term is set to last until May 31, 2028.
Wilson is the Owner and Managing Partner of Green Acres Outdoor Power Equipment. Previously, he served as a Managing Partner of Suncoast Equipment Repair. Prior to outdoor power equipment, Wilson started out in the Automotive Industry before establishing his first vending business across Pasco, Hernando, Citrus and Marion counties. As a resident of Hernando County for over 40 years, Wilson was appointed to the DBOT in May 2025, with a 1-year initial contract. Wilson’s reappointment term is set to last until May 31, 2028.
The re-appointments are effective as of May 1, 2026, and are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
