Instructure (Canvas Learning Management System) has shared a recent update regarding the recent cybersecurity incident.
Instructure CEO Steve Daly has reached an agreement with the unauthorized actor involved in the incident. As part of that agreement, the data was returned. Instructure received assurances that the information would not be further shared online and that it received proof that copies of the data were deleted.
Instructure also stated that this agreement applies to all affected institutions and that individual colleges do not need to take any action related to the unauthorized actor.
Pasco-Hernando State College will continue to monitor updates from Instructure and will share additional verified information if needed.
At this time, no additional action is required from students, faculty or staff.
