Job Potential Earnings
According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, starting salaries for welders are in the mid-twenties with typical hourly wages ranging from $15.38 and $48.08 per hour depending on skill and experience.
Special Notice
- Students will receive a certificate of completion.
- Students can apply at any time.
- The Welding program is offered at the East Campus in Dade City for morning, afternoon, and evening times, and Marchman Technical College in New Port Richey for evening times only.
- Courses must be taken in sequential order unless students obtain prior consent of instructor.
- Welding is a Dual Enrollment eligible program with a 2.0 GPA requirement.
- Students must pass the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) in order to receive a certificate at time of completion. The test must be taken at the time the student enters the program. Students who do not pass the test can enroll in the program and work on remediation activities in the Academic Success Center. For exemptions, visit PHSC Testing Services.
- Passing and earning an AWS certification during program enrollment will replace the TABE requirement.
