Award-winning Actor; Stand-up Comedian

Tatanka Means is an award-winning actor and stand-up comedian from Chinle, Arizona. He represents the Navajo, Oglala Lakota and Omaha Nations. His most recent credits include starring alongside Mark Ruffalo in HBO’s limited series I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE directed by Derek Cianfrance, ONCE UPON A RIVER based on the New York Times best seller, THE LIBERATOR, an animated World War II drama series based on the book by Alex Kershaw airing on Netflix. Means is currently in Oklahoma filming KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON by Martin Scorsese. Means is just finished filming the Coerte Voorhees film CANYON DEL MUERTO with Tom Felton based on a true story. He recently wrapped filming SURROUNDED with Letitia Wright. Tatanka can be seen starring in the television movie SAINTS & STRANGERS for the National Geographic Channel, and in the AMC series THE SON with Pierce Brosnan. Aside from acting Tatanka performs stand-up comedy throughout the U.S. and Canada. Means is one of the busiest touring Native comedians performing today. He travels Indian Country spreading laughter and messages of motivation to all ages entertaining audiences everywhere from casinos and schools to conferences and universities. The National Indian Gaming Association recently honored Tatanka by naming him the Entertainer of the Year. He currently resides in New Mexico with his wife and children. Means is the son of educator & artist Gloria Grant and iconic American Indian activist & actor, Russell Means.
