Health Care Discovery Summer Camp - July 28-31, 2025
The Healthcare Discovery Summer Camp, hosted by the Institute for Nursing and Allied Health Advancement at PHSC, is designed to spark curiosity and enthusiasm for careers in healthcare among middle and high school students. Through a fun and hands-on learning environment, students will explore real-world applications in nursing, medicine, surgical technology, pharmacy and other healthcare professions.
Key Features:
- Hands-on learning with PHSC healthcare faculty and simulation equipment
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association Heart Saver course
- Group activities designed to encourage teamwork, leadership, and communication
- A certificate of participation for all campers
Schedule:
Day 1: Life-Saving Skills (3 hours)
- CPR Heart Saver Certification
- Learn the fundamentals of emergency response from certified instructors
Day 2: Behind the Scenes in Healthcare
- Surgical Technology
- Glove up for mock surgical prep
Day 3: Nursing & Medicine in Action
- Engage in basic clinical assessments
- Use of simulation mannequins
- Explore healthcare diagnostics
Day 4: Emergency Response Simulation
- Disaster Day! Put all your new skills to the test in a high-energy disaster response simulation scenario alongside nurses, medics and faculty mentors.

$150.00 Per Camper (used to pay for instruction and supplies), non-refundable.
