Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) is proud to report outstanding outcomes for its Nursing and Health Programs in the 2024‑2025 academic year, as students continue to excel on national licensure examinations, while enrollment and program completion grow across multiple tracks.
The college’s Associate Degree in nursing for registered nurses (ADN-RN) program achieved a remarkable 97.27% first-time pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), which was well above the national average of 90.63%. Even more impressive, students in the practical nursing (LPN) program achieved a 100% first-time pass rate on the NCLEX, far surpassing the national average of 88.38%.
“I’ve found nursing as a career to be very rewarding, and I’m proud to have witnessed firsthand the excellent education that PHSC provides. The seasoned and educated nursing instructors provide a wealth of resources to students,” said Christine Jackson, a PHSC Nursing alumna.
In addition to strong licensure performance, PHSC continues to experience strong student enrollment. During the entirety of the 2024–2025 academic year, a total of 409 students were enrolled across PHSC’s core nursing programs. The ADN-RN programs accounted for the largest share, with 75.8% of students spread across the North, East, West and Porter campuses.
“At a time when the demand for skilled nurses and health care professionals has never been greater, PHSC is proud to prepare graduates for the field who are not only highly competent but deeply committed to patient care,” said Eric Hall, Ed.D., PHSC president. “Our high licensure pass rates and strong enrollment reflect the dedication of our faculty and students, as well as our ongoing commitment to advancing health education that directly benefits our communities.”
Graduation numbers were also strong for the academic year, with 195 students graduating across all nursing programs. To start the new academic year off, 327 students were enrolled across PHSC’s core nursing programs, reflecting the college’s continued commitment to prepare future health care professionals. With the demand for qualified nurses continuing to rise both locally and across the nation, PHSC remains a vital contributor to the health care workforce, providing students with the skills, knowledge and support needed to succeed in this essential field.
