Karen Davis

Along with her Language Arts courses, Karen Davis teaches Introduction to Peace Studies. She received a certificate from The United States Institute of Peace in Washington D.C. for completion of an intensive seminar for community college educators in 2007.  In 2013 she participated in a weeklong seminar, “Teaching Peace in the 21st Century,” at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at Notre Dame University.  

In 2015 she participated in the Institute for Curriculum and Campus Internationalization at the Center for the Study of Global Change at Indiana University. She has been working on establishing a certificate of globalization and peace for PHSC students. Davis has written a chapter “Community Building through a Peace and Social Justice Institute” in Peacebuilding in Community Colleges, A Teaching Resource, edited by David J. Smith and published by the United States Institute of Peace Press. She holds a BA in English from St John’s University and an MA in English from Rutgers University.
